Welcome to Frontier Architecture Ltd.

The following terms and conditions provide information of Frontier Architecture Ltd service and govern your use of said service(s).

By employing the services of Frontier Architecture Ltd it is understood that you are accepting these terms and conditions.

Terms and Conditions of service

  1. Enquiries and consultation service.

    1.1. Any enquiries received will be subject to an initial free consultation. These will be carried out by phone, email, video conference or on site. The participation of this initial consultation does not mean that our service must be undertaken, nor does Frontier Architecture Ltd have to commit to undertake works after a consultation has taken place.

    1.2. Cancellation of any appointment by yourself must be received by email or phone at least 24hrs prior to appointment date.

    1.3. Frontier Architecture Ltd reserves the right to refuse service if deemed necessary and a contract is only deemed in place upon receipt of deposit paid in full as per the confirmation letter.

  2. Surveys and Drawings

    2.1 A ‘survey’ as carried out by Frontier Architecture Ltd means the measuring of your property and site where necessary. Surveys are non-intrusive, meaning that Frontier Architecture Ltd will not create openings or lift manholes, flooring or enter unsafe spaces. Measurements will be taken based upon what is accessible and visible.

    2.2 Surveys must be booked at least 24hrs in advance. Cancellation of a survey within 24hrs of said appointment may be liable for an additional fee of £150 + VAT. This fee is in addition to the fee for our service as previously agreed in writing.

    2.3 Any behaviour deemed inappropriate during the appointment to measure your property will result in cancellation of the appointment with immediate effect and the cancellation of the contract between any party and Frontier Architecture Ltd.

    2.4. Drawings will be provided within an approximate time frame. However these time frames are subject to change. Any extension of time required by Frontier Architecture Ltd to carry out works are not grounds for refunds unless Frontier Architecture Ltd agree under certain circumstances.

    2.5. The cancellation of a project after the payment of a deposit and the completion of a site survey are not subject to any refund of a deposit. Cancellation of a project prior to the site survey taken place will result in the return of the deposit if requested.

    2.6 Drawings of plans will be provided to clients for an initial review. Any requested amendments to plans will be carried out, where possible and resent to client for a final assessment. Anymore than 2 requests for alterations may incur additional charges at a rate of £150 + VAT per hour. Total rate due will be supplied prior to additional amendments being undertaken by Frontier Architecture Ltd.

    2.7 Any requests for amendments must be made prior to submission of planning application. Any required amendments must be requested in writing via email or letter and should amendments be required for any reason, Frontier Architecture Ltd reserves the right to make such amendments without cancellation of our agreement by the client. Any request for changes once an application has been submitted may be liable to additional fee of £150 + VAT per hour.

    2.8. Amendments to drawings requested by local authority planning departments do not incur any additional charges.

    2.9 Plans and information provided by Frontier Architecture Ltd are for the purposes of planning applications only. Prior construction knowledge is assumed and all structural elements must be agreed between contractors, property owner and Building Control prior to commencement of works. All measurements required for construction including, but not limited to measurements for new staircases, walls, drainage, roofs and ceilings, glazing and foundations must be taken on site by contractor and not measured from plans. Plans provided by Frontier Architecture Ltd are to depict what is to be built and are not ‘how to’ guides to building and previous constructional knowledge is assumed.

  3. Planning applications

    3.1. Frontier Architecture Ltd will act as agent in planning applications unless requested not to do so by the client

    3.2. Plans and planning applications submitted will be based on advice provided by Frontier Architecture Ltd in accordance with planning regulations. If a client chooses not to follow given advice in submitting their plans, Frontier Architecture takes no responsibility for their refusal.

    3.3. Any deviation from approved plans are not the responsibility of Frontier Architecture Ltd and maybe subject to enforcement action by the local authority.

    3.4. Frontier Architecture Ltd takes no responsibility for refusal of planning applications and are not committed to being involved with any appeal or re-application unless agreed in writing. Further works may be liable to further fees payable to Frontier Architecture Ltd

    3.5. Frontier Architecture Ltd have no responsibility for the amount of time for a planning application to conclude. The responsibility for planning application time frames to be concluded is the sole responsibility of the local authority.

    3.6. Frontier Architecture Ltd remit ends with the determination of a planning application. Any further works following the conclusion of a planning application are subject to a new agreement and Frontier Architecture Ltd have no requirement to offer any further assistance if we do not wish to engage any further.

  4. Party Wall Matters

    4.1. Attention is drawn to the Party Wall Act. 1996

    4.2. Where Frontier Architecture is appointed to act as joint or sole Party Wall Surveyor all parties must act in a civil manner, any behaviour deemed inappropriate may result in the termination of our agreement and further action being taken when deemed appropriate.

    4.3. Appointment letters must be returned via post or email before works relating to the formation of a Party Wall Award can begin

    4.4. Payment for Party Wall Awards is due the same day as the Award is published.

    4.5 Schedule of Condition appointments are non-intrusive.

    4.6. Party Wall Awards will be signed and published via email in accordance with current regulations under the act.

  5. Terms of Payment.

    5.1. Deposits for plans are due at the time of booking an appointment to measure the property.

    5.2. Deposits are non-refundable unless Frontier Architecture Ltd agrees under special circumstances.

    5.3. Balance payments are due upon receipt of plans ahead of submission of planning application. Balance invoice payments should be made no later than 7 days from date of invoice.

    5.4. Invoices relating to Party Wall Awards are due on the day Party Wall Award is published by email.

    5.5. Payments can be made via BACS or alternative online banking transfer. Frontier Architecture Ltd can also accept credit/debit card payments in person via mobile payment system.

  6. Cancellation/refunds/complaints/behaviour

    6.1 Any service must be cancelled in writing prior to works commencing. If a deposit has been paid prior to cancellation that deposit may not be returned.

    6.2 Cancellation of a project after a site survey and once drawings have been produced, even if prior to the submission of a planning application, will incur a charge of the balance of the fee due for payment minus an amount specified by Frontier Architecture Ltd for any works not carried out as part of the original agreement.

    6.3. Any feedback including complaints are welcome. Frontier Architecture Ltd will do everything possible to address any complaints, however Frontier Architecture Ltd reserves the right to take further action if complaints are deemed to be defamatory. Abusive or threatening language or actions will not be tolerated and Frontier Architecture Ltd may take relevant action against any party who engages in such behaviour.

    6.4. Frontier Architecture Ltd has a zero tolerance policy towards any behaviour whether written, verbal or physical that is deemed unacceptable and will not be tolerated. Any such behaviour may result in further action taking place against any individuals or groups.

  7. Building Control/Building Regulations

    7.1. At present Frontier Architecture Ltd are not engaging in any works relating to Building Regulations. Plans and documents provided by Frontier Architecture Ltd are for the purposes of planning only as well as forming a basis for discussion between our client and their potential contractors.

    7.2. It is the responsibility of the contractor and or applicant to agree all elements of building works with Building Control prior to the commencement of works.

    7.3. All measurements related to building works must be taken on site by contractor.

    7.4. Frontier Architecture Ltd are not responsible for any issues relating to building works or building practices.

    7.5. As mentioned above in section 2.9 previous constructional knowledge is assumed.

    7.6. Frontier Architecture Ltd advises that all building works are carried out following a successful Full Plans application. Any works that deviate from approved plans or undertaken under a Building Notice are done so at your own risk.

  8. Data Protection & Copyright

    8.1. Data collected by Frontier Architecture ltd through our website, email or in person including addresses, names, email addresses and telephone numbers will be held on file by Frontier Architecture Ltd unless requested by individual or group to remove their information in writing.

    8.2. Any data or information held by Frontier Architecture Ltd will not be passed on to any other party unless agreed in advance by individual or group in question.

    8.3. No bank account details or card details are retained by Frontier Architecture Ltd.

    8.4. All plans are the copyright property of Frontier Architecture Ltd until the payment of agreed fee in full.

    8.5. It is a breach of our copyright to amend any plan provided by Frontier Architecture Ltd without written permission being granted. Any plans amended without Frontier Architecture Ltd’s knowledge may result in further action being taken.
